Fire Hose Reels

This process includes cleaning, inspecting components and addressing any leaks or damage which might affect the functionality of the fire hose reel. The service and maintenance process also includes lubrication, water flow rate, pressure test and final checks on hose reels in line with the standards and requirements of SANS 1475 and SAQCC.

Fire Hydrants and Hydrant Boxes

This process comprises of external and internal inspection of the hydrant which includes flushing the hydrant to remove debris, lubricating the operating mechanism and inspecting leaks and damages and sealing. The components of a hydrant box include the following, a fire hose, wrench and standpipe for supplying water from an underground hydrant. Fire hydrants are expected to be flushed twice a year to ensure longevity and check for functionality faults.

Hydro Testing

All hydrostatic testing is carried out to the latest specifications. Legislation requires that all fire extinguishers be hydrostatically tested as part of a major service. All servicing and repairs to latest SANS 1475. Standards by qualified SAQCC registered Technicians. Our SABS accredited workshop is equipped to carry out servicing of all types of firefighting equipment. Professional advice is given by qualified staff. Facilities operate to ISO standards.

Numbering and Color Code

Where an organization has various departments and sections, and the standard requirement for SANS 1475 and SAQCC requires that each piece of fire equipment to be numbered and recorded as per their installation, maintenance and servicing. We aim to improve the numbering and color-coding system for each section and department to facilitate fire equipment tracking, maintenance, and quick identification during emergencies. The numbering and color-coding system will allow for clear communication between end-users, firefighters and incident commanders about the location and availability of specific fire safety equipment.
